Position Title: Urban Forestry/Natural Resources Specialist

About Tree Davis: Our mission is to enhance and expand our urban forest by teaching the people of our community to plant and care for trees.

We are committed to educating the public about trees because we view urban and community forestry as an integral part of a healthy environment. Teaching people to plant and care for trees increases environmental awareness and empowers our citizens as stewards of our community, country, and planet. Planting a tree is much more than a fun outdoor activity. It reduces pollution, provides cooling shade on a summer’s day, brings neighbors together, increases property values, reduces crime, fosters community cooperation, and provides habitat for local wildlife.

Job Description: Under general supervision, provide support in the areas of tree planting, tree care, natural resources management, outreach and education. Work as team member on a number of urban forestry and natural resources management projects in Yolo County focusing on mobilizing and educating volunteers.

Specific duties will include some or all of the following, depending on the applicant’s interest: map making, planting site evaluations, tree planting/tree care, volunteer coordination, performing outreach duties and interfacing with the community, updating the organization’s website, assisting with report preparation and fundraising duties.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who is reliable and committed to enhancing the urban forest and natural resources of Yolo County.

This is a part-time position. Hourly wage is $12 per hour. Please submit your cover letter and resume to Erin Donley Marineau at erin@treedavis.org
