Tree Davis Programs

A TREE Davis Planting Program

Tree planting

Since 1992, TREE Davis has planted over 8000 trees in Davis parks, greenbelts, city streets, and local wildlife areas. We provide volunteers, tools, and planting facilitation in partnership with the City of Davis. We plant approximately 150 trees per year. We are taking suggestions for future planting sites.

Small Tree Maintenance

We partner with the City of Davis to involve citizens in the planting and maintenance of city street trees for strong, healthy structure and form. With six training workshops and six hands-on pruning events, we prune around 300 trees per year. Most trees are under twenty feet, but we also prune suckers off of larger trees as needed. We are available to speak at neighborhood association meetings about tree care and how to improve growth and vigor.

Tree Tributes

Honor a friend, loved one, or organization with a green gift that contributes to the health and beauty of our community. Tree Tributes are available in denominations of $50, $200, or $1,000. Please see the “Dedicate a Tree” section of this website for more information.

Tree Monitoring and Mapping

Through a partnership with the City of Davis, Tree Davis interns assist with the monitoring of city trees. It’s difficult to care for the urban forest if you don’t know what it contains, so we are glad to assist in keeping our city tree inventory accurate and up to date.
