October 9th Shade Tree Giveaway: Sponsored by PG&E, this one-day event provides participants with free shade trees. Registrants may select one of four shade tree species specifically selected for their outstanding performance in Yolo County. Participants may also attend one of three demonstrations to be held during the day, and will have access to a certified arborist who will be availble to explain how to site, plant, and care for your shade tree. Volunteers make our work possible. From planting and maintaining trees to office tasks and fundraising support, our volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization. Whether you can give an afternoon or a year, prefer to work indoors or outside, we can find a role that's right for you. Our volunteers receive specialized training and tools at each event. We want to make sure we have the right number of tools for folks, so if you are interested in volunteering to plant or care for trees, you must subscribe to our volunteer email list or call the office at 758-7337 to reserve a space. Volunteer event locations will not be posted.
