Woodland Tree Foundation: Neighborhood Shade Tree Program

The Woodland Tree Foundation is a non-profit organization run by volunteers dedicated to improving Woodland through the planting of trees with the motto¬†Building Community Through Canopy.¬†Tree Davis has initiated a new partnership with the Woodland Tree Foundation and the City of Woodland to continue implementing the Neighborhood Shade Tree Program. The goals of the Neighborhood Shade Tree Program lie within the City of Woodland and the Woodland Tree Foundation’s greater goals to plant 1,200 shade trees in the City within the next three years. Furthermore, the Neighborhood Shade Tree Program offers free trees to residents in Woodland to shade and cool homes to conserve energy, clean air, reduce greenhouse gases, and beautify neighborhoods. This program is also made possible by a CAL FIRE urban forestry Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund grant.
