Our Mission

The mission of Tree Davis is to enhance and expand the urban forest by partnering with our community to plant and care for trees.

What We do

Educating

Through our Climate-Ready Urban Forestry Education and Cool Schools Yolo program, we engage with students of all ages throughout Yolo County to educate and inspire the next generation of environmental stewards. Using a combination of in-class lessons and a hands-on approach, we teach students about the benefits of trees.

Engaging

Through community engagement and neighborhood tree planting events, we provide tangible experiences that teach people how to properly plant and care for trees. We believe that learning by doing, especially in outdoor, real-world settings empowers individuals to create greener, healthier and more resilient communities.

Greening

Trees are a vital part of our green infrastructure which strengthen our communities ecologically, socially and economically. A healthy and strong urban forest is a living system that evolves over time and requires ongoing care and stewardship. By planting and caring for trees in partnership with our community, our neighborhoods are better equipped to withstand the ongoing challenges of climate change.

Tree Planting and Care

At Tree Davis our work not only involves outreach and education, but also the planting and management of trees. Tree planting and care work is seasonal. Trees require regular care and maintenance to become established and stay healthy. Healthy trees are more likely to deliver ecological, economic, and social benefits to our community.
