N Street Park

Back To Our Work

The Program

The N Street Park renovation was a community-led effort by the Davis Manor Neighborhood Council. Originally built in 1960, the park had seen minimal updates since then. The space consisted of a basic open turf area with an old, small play structure tucked away from the street. In 2018, the neighborhood planning committee submitted a proposal to the City of Davis to reimagine the park. Through volunteer events led by Tree Davis, the park was transformed to include climate-ready planting zones, a dry creek bed, and a log-habitat feature. Eighty-two neighbors contributed to the effort, making it a highly successful example of an effective private/public partnership.
