In the City of Davis, Tree Davis engages in tree planting, tree care, and other efforts to help us fulfill our mission of expanding and enhancing the urban forest by teaching our community to plant and care for trees. These efforts and our organization is driven by our volunteers and members!
Tree Planting
Since 1992, Tree Davis has planted over 9,000 trees in Davis parks, greenbelts, city streets, and local wildlife areas. We provide volunteers, tools, and planting facilitation in partnership with the City of Davis.
For information regarding trees recommended for this area and how to care for them, visit our resources page!
Small Tree Care
We partner with the City of Davis to involve citizens in the maintenance of city street trees for strong, healthy structure and form. Most trees are under twenty feet, but we also prune suckers off of larger trees as needed.
Open Space Maintenance
Tree Davis partners with the City of Davis on its Open Space Program. The City’s Open Space Program works to protect farmland and wild areas that surround the community. The areas are managed to provide long-term natural habitat value, and maintained for their quality, quantity, and connectivity.
Davis Great Tree Search
There are many unusual trees in Davis’s yards and parks that add botanical diversity, beauty and history to our community. We are calling on the residents of Davis to nominate Great Trees that grace the private and public landscapes. Share your Great Tree nominations(s) with us by clicking the link below, and Tree Davis volunteers will follow-up to arrange a time to measure and photograph your nomination(s).
